Oggi è la vigilia di Natale, cioè il giorno prima della festività del cristianesimo. Nel calendario gregoriano la vigilia è il 24 dicembre, invece nel calendario giuliano è il 6 gennaio.

Il 24 di dicembre si festeggia la notte della nascita di Gesù, a Betlemme, in Giudea. I Vangeli dicono che i re Magi trovarono (grazie alla stella di Betlemme) un bimbo dentro una mangiatoia, e decisero di dargli in dono l’oro, l’incenso e la mirra.
